I'm I paint portraits and figures of women experiencing the disappointment and disillusionment of romance. Through movies, music, books, etc. culture feeds us ideas of “the ideal romantic relationship”-a type of love that requires little work and a lifetime of happiness. Eventually everyone must come to the realization that this is unattainable, and such a realization can be painful. I use ink and watercolor to capture the delicacy and fragility of these emotions.
